Capital Arms
Privacy policy
Effective date: [DATE]
This policy explains what personal information Capital Arms LLC (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, how we use and share it, and your choices. This website is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Information we collect
- Order information: name, billing address, email, phone, the receiving FFL dealer you choose, the items you buy, and your confirmation that you are eligible to buy a firearm.
- Payment information: card details are entered into our payment processor’s secure form (Authorize.net) and are not stored on our servers. We receive the card type, the last four digits and the transaction result.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Reviews and messages: reviews you post and messages you send us.
- Email sign-ups: your email address if you join our newsletter or ask to be notified when a product is back in stock.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited. We record the IP address and browser used for each order to prevent fraud. The site uses cookies needed to run the store (cart, checkout, login). [List analytics tools here if added.]
How we use it
- To process your order, ship it to your dealer or prepare it for pickup, and contact you about it.
- To verify the receiving dealer and to keep the records federal and state law requires of a licensed firearms dealer.
- To prevent fraud and unlawful purchases, and to protect our customers and our business.
- To send back-in-stock alerts and newsletters you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
- The receiving FFL dealer: your name, contact details and order items, so they can complete the transfer.
- Service providers: our payment processor and payment gateway, shipping carrier, email delivery provider and hosting provider, only as needed to provide their service.
- Authorities: government agencies when required by law, including ATF inspections and record requests and law enforcement requests.
- A buyer of our business, if the business is sold, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not allow third parties to collect information about your activity across other websites through our site.
Do Not Track
Our website does not change its behavior in response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because we do not track visitors across other websites. [Update if analytics or advertising tools are added.]
How long we keep it
Records of firearm sales are kept for as long as federal and state law require of a licensed firearms dealer, and order and payment records for as long as tax law requires. Other information is deleted when it is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
- You can review and update your account details in My account at any time.
- You can unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email or by contacting us.
- To ask for a copy of your information, a correction or its deletion, email info@capitalarmsva.com. We will respond within 45 days. Some records cannot be deleted because firearms law requires us to keep them.
- Residents of some states (including California, Virginia and Colorado) have additional rights under their state privacy laws. You can exercise them through the same email address. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Card details are handled by our PCI DSS-compliant payment processor. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date. For material changes we will also place a notice on the website.
